COMMITTEES
Any DBA member interested in attending a committee meeting or participating on a committee, please contact the chair for dates and times.
Organization - Rebecca Toedter 823-1589
The Organization Committee builds a consensus and corporation between the groups that play a role in the downtown. Many individuals and organizations have an important stake in the economic and cultural viability of the district. The Main Street Four Point Approach™ builds a framework for a sensible volunteer-driven programming and organizational structure that matches the community’s assets and potential.
Economic Restructuring - Gary Capps 823-2111
The ERC strengthens the existing economic base of the Downtown area while simultaneously diversifying it. Economic restructuring activities include helping existing downtown business expand, recruiting new businesses to provide a balanced mix, converting included space into property, and sharpening the competitiveness of downtown businesses. ERC meetings are held at 11:30 am on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Monkey Cat Restaurant. For more information, call Gary.
Promotions - Teri Gibson 885-9644
Promotions involve marketing the downtown’s unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new business, tourists and others. Effective promotion creates a positive image of the downtown through retail promotional activity, special events and on-going programs to build positive perceptions of the district. Promotions meetings are at Christmas Village on the 2nd THursday of each month at 8:30am.
Design & Beautification - Corinne Lee 885-4312
Design & Beautification contributes to improving the downtown’s image by enhancing its physical appearance — not just that of the buildings, but also of street lights, window displays, parking areas, signs, sidewalks, promotional materials and all other elements that convey a visual message about what the downtown is and what it has to offer.
